Back up and move your data

Import contacts from another tool, export a CSV, take a full backup, and know what happens to your data when you change computers.

Last updated August 28, 2026

Your pipeline is stored in the browser you built it in. That is fast and private, and it means a backup is not optional.

Everything here is in Settings.

Clearing browsing data deletes your pipeline

There is no copy on our servers to restore from. Take a backup once you have work worth losing, and take another before you change computers or reinstall.

Bring your contacts across

CSV import recognises its own export, Chatsilo, Genius Messenger and GroupTrack automatically, and will take a plain CSV from anywhere else.

  1. Open Settings›Bring your contacts across.
  2. Choose your file.
  3. Check the preview before anything is written.

Any column it could not map is shown rather than dropped, so you can see what is being left behind instead of finding out later.

A row with no stage is filed at New Lead, because importing somebody is the decision to work them.

Take everything with you

WhatUse it for
CSV exportYour contacts, for a spreadsheet or another tool.
Full JSON backupEverything — contacts, notes, scripts, reminders, events, groups, posts and products. This is the one to keep.
RestoreReads a backup file back in.

There is also a snapshot from before the last update, taken automatically, in case a version migration ever goes wrong.

Moving to another computer

There is no sync yet. Your account proves your subscription; it does not carry your data between machines.

To move:

  1. Take a full JSON backup on the old computer.
  2. Install the extension on the new one and sign in.
  3. Restore the backup.

When we reach the Chrome Web Store

You will need to switch from the file-installed version to the store version, and your data will not come across on its own. Chrome keys an extension's storage to its identity, and the two builds have different ones.

  1. Export a full backup from the version you are running now.
  2. Install the store version.
  3. Restore the backup into it.
  4. Remove the old unpacked version.

We will email you with these steps when it is time. You do not need to do anything until then.

What is stored, and where

Contacts, stages, notes, tags, reminders, your script library, images, links, products, groups and posts are all saved in that browser, on that computer. None of it is sent to us.

One thing leaves the machine, and only because you asked: signing in sends your email address and password to Google's authentication service, which is what proves your subscription is active.

The extension reads only the conversation you have open — the other person's name, profile link and picture. It does not read your friends list, your groups, or threads you are not in. The text of messages is never stored and never sent anywhere.
