Create a booking calendar
Set up a calendar customers can book themselves onto — availability, meeting length, buffers, notice, confirmations and reminders.
A booking calendar publishes your real availability as a page customers pick a time on. The booking lands on your calendar, the contact is created or matched automatically, and the confirmation goes out without you touching it.
Go to Calendars and click the + next to Calendars.
The settings, and what each one actually does
Calendar Name is public — it is the heading on your booking page. "Book a Call with Derek" reads better than "Consultations 30m".
Description is public too, under the heading. One or two sentences on what the call is.
Meeting Duration (minutes) is the length of the appointment itself.
Buffer Between Meetings (min) is padding added after each one. Duration plus buffer is what actually sets your slot spacing — 30 minutes with a 15-minute buffer gives you slots every 45 minutes, not every 30.
Minimum Notice (hours) is the soonest someone can book from now. Set 0 for none. Two hours stops somebody booking a slot that starts in four minutes.
Default Location is shown publicly. Keep it general — "Phone call or Zoom", not a meeting link.
Private Join Details goes only to people who actually book. This is where the meeting link and passcode belong, not in the public location field.
Favicon URL is the icon in the browser tab on your booking page. It has to be an absolute URL to an image you already host.
Redirect After Booking sends people to a URL of your choosing once they are booked — a thank-you page, or the next step in a funnel. Leave it empty and they see a confirmation instead.
Color is how the calendar shows up in your calendar views.
Availability
Each day gets its own on/off toggle and a start and end time, or flip 24/7 Availability on. Weekends are off by default.
Each day has a single start and end, so there is no way to set a lunch break in these settings. If you work 9 to 3 and do not want anyone booking noon, the way to block it is a recurring appointment on the calendar over that hour — booked time is not offered as a slot.
Confirmations and reminders
Booking Confirmation sends when the appointment is booked, by Email, SMS or both.
Automated Reminders default to one at 24 hours before and one at 1 hour before, each on email and SMS. Add more with + Add Reminder, or remove any you do not want.
Reminders go out via your connected email and phone number, so they depend on those being set up. Email reminders need your email sending configured; SMS reminders need your phone number.
Then check it
Click Create Calendar, then open your booking page and click into a date before you send the link anywhere. You are checking that the days you expect are bookable, the weekend is greyed out, and the times shown match your hours.
